  Because of my interest and passion for TV broadcasting and electronic media I wanted to reflect on the EOTO Com. Tech. TV project. I knew a lot about the history of the TV industry before this, but I learned lots of new and interesting stuff from this presentation. What stood out to me most that I didn't know was that RCA actually made television devices and were among the first to do so. This means that in the early days of TV, RCA essentially had a monopoly on the TV industry because not only were they manufacturing tv sets, but they were the primary producers of TV content. One significant achievement that they made was televising the president of the United States for the first time, which set them a part because before that some people had only heard his voice. RCA also owned the NBC blue network which then split off and is now ABC.   When researching the printing press , it amazed me how far the innovation truly has come from a time when there was no electricity to a time where electricity is everywhere. In its earliest forms, the printing press was just individual blocks of wood letters dipped in ink and then pressed on paper. The letters weren't even molded pressed together which made it more tedious and longer to print books. So this makes it crazy to think that when the printing press went from individual blocks to printing whole words, that was a very progressive innovation similar to how we went from analog to digital video (VCR to DVD) in modern times. This makes me realize how much electricity has made inventions so much more efficient and the most common example of this is the light bulb. Before light bulbs were invented, and even before kerosene lamps, people would have to go around and light each candle lamp individually.   First, it is interesting to note how social media companies can legally censor their users, in instances when they are trying to speak out against the government. In similar instances like former president  Donald Trump's  twitter account, which was banned after the January 6 riots at the capitol because his words were "dangerous." Freedom of speech protects you from censorship from the government, and is not absolute, for example you can't yell fire in a crowded theater. In the case of Donald Trump he, the government, was censored by a private company. Even though it wasn't his government account, he was still representing the government as president and it's ironic how the government can't censor private companies or citizens, but private companies can censor the government. The participation in self government value of free expression states that  citizens will not make wise decisions when candidates are censored and can't relay their positions. T...

Due to the busy demands of my life I don't have time to site down and watch a whole news program or read a lengthy article. I resort to more concise forms of news mostly through social media apps like snapchat and Tik Tok. Occasionally, when i have time, I will watch a network or cable news channel for insight and analysis. On a day to day basis getting my news in concise forms on social media, which I am already on most of the time, is my go-to. Good Luck America GLA on Snap 'Good Luck America' is a daily short show on social media app Snapchat that is hosted by Peter Hamby. Goof Luck America is Snapchat's first original show and only political news show. It was made in an effort to try to appeal politics to young people, and I think that it does a good job of that. It is my go-to for news because it talks about relevant topics, unbiasedly and non-partisan, and Hamby is not afraid to harshly critic politicians or and the media's portrayal of them.
